What to
expect ?
We run on a precise schedule to ensure every couple gets a private, beautiful celebration. Our chapel is a ceremony-only facility (unless you reserve an all-day event).
Here is how your timeline flows:
-
Arrival & Entry: Doors open exactly at your scheduled start time. If the previous group is wrapping up their celebration when you arrive, please step to the side so they can enjoy their final send-off.
-
Getting Settled: Once inside, your guests will be seated. Your officiant will quickly check in with you to review your music playlist, confirm how you want to walk down the aisle, organize your vows, and handle your marriage license signing (if your doing that).
-
The Celebration: After your ceremony, you can do as you please - enjoy a romantic first dance, take photos in our custom photo booth, and use the entire vintage-inspired space for portraits for the duration of your time slot.Â
-
Your Send-Off: When your time slot ends, we will coordinate your grand exit send-off!
-
A Quick Note on Photography
-
To capture these memories, please bring your own photographer. We do not provide photography services on-site, but we are happy to share a curated list of our favorite local vendors!
-
💡 Pro-Tip: We highly recommend booking at least a one-hour time slot. This gives your guests plenty of time to enjoy the photo booth and allows you to capture stunning, unhurried portraits.
The Legal Stuff: How to Get Married in Atlanta
Getting your marriage license in Georgia is simple, but it does require a little bit of planning before your big day! Because Two Lovebirds Chapel is a ceremony-only site, we want to make sure you have your paperwork entirely ready to go before you step through our doors.
Here is your step-by-step guide to making it official:
Â
1. Where to Get Your License
You must apply for your marriage license at a Probate Court in Georgia.
-
If at least one of you is a Georgia resident: You can apply in any county in the state of Georgia, and the license can be used anywhere in the state (including here at our chapel in Fulton County).
-
If both of you are out-of-state residents: You must apply for your license in the specific county where the ceremony is taking place. Since our chapel is in Atlanta, you will need to go directly through the Fulton County Probate Court.
-
Local Tip: The Fulton County Probate Court Downtown Location (136 Pryor St SW) or the Fulton County South Services Center are popular spots to apply. We highly recommend filling out your application online ahead of time and making an appointment to save time!
-
2. What to Bring to the Courthouse
-
Make sure both of you head to the Probate Court together and bring:
-
Valid Photo ID: A driver’s license, state ID, or passport.
-
Proof of Dissolution (if applicable): If either of you has been previously married, you must bring a certified copy of your final divorce decree or a death certificate.
-
Payment: Most courts charge around $56–$76. Note: If you complete a qualifying premarital education course, Georgia discounts this fee significantly!
-
3. Getting It Signed at Two Lovebirds Chapel
-
Once you receive your marriage license from the court, keep it safe and bring the entire packet with you to your chapel time slot.
-
When you arrive, our officiant will review your paperwork and gather your custom playlist.
-
Right after you say your "I do's," you, your spouse, and our officiant will officially sign the license right here in the chapel.
-
Note: Georgia does not strictly require blood tests or witness signatures on the day of the ceremony, so it's just down to you two and the officiant!
-
4. Turning It Back In (Filing)
-
Your signed marriage license must be returned to the exact same Probate Court that issued it to you within 30 days of your ceremony.
-
We’ve got you covered: To make your weekend completely low-stress, our officiant will take your signed license at the end of your ceremony time slot and handle mailing it back to the court for you!
-
Once the court processes the returned license, they will mail your official certified Marriage Certificate directly to your home address
We highly recommend going across the street to the Westwood to drink, show them your marriage license!! but we are not allowed to serve alcohol.Â
What about cake?
If you choose to add on a cake / cake pops it will be delivered prior to your wedding from the vendor. Dont forget to email them your flavor choice! You will be able to cut your cake for cute photos but you'll have to take it with you when you leave. Also, check out our other vendors if you are planning a reception somewhere else. They deliver & set up!Â
What about alcohol ?Â
